Imaging Expert & Artist
I have been printing my own color and black and white work for years, and I am excited to offer my printing techniques to fellow artists and photographers. To print well, you don’t just need amazing ink and hardware, you need the eyes and the experience. I have worked extensively with many artists on color imaging, proofing, and scanning and have an intuitive sense of where a project needs to go.
Since I am a photographic artist myself, I understand what it’s like to see a project come to fruition. I am dedicated to working directly with you as the artist to achieve your individual goals.
Color Managed and Custom Profiles
At the studio, I constantly profile our printer and every paper with 3000 patch ICCs and X-Rite Spectrophotometers. These “color libraries” keep a close match between what I see on the monitor and the paper I print on which enables me to achieve maximum color fidelity and reliable results for artists year after year.
Color management is ever-evolving as technology and color science grows and I am on the leading edge of color management research and experimentation. Equipment will be constantly updated and maintained to ensure your prints are exactly the same each and every time you order a print.
My philosophy is that a good print is not just about maximum pop, it’s all in the subtleties between tonality and color.
Paper
Paper is as much a part of the process as the image itself. At the studio, I stock a variety of matte, glossy, and baryta Hahnemuhle papers and can recommend a paper for your specific project or image. Each paper is custom profiled for the in-house printer and regularly maintained for accuracy. Sizes can be accommodated up to 44” wide.
Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta - 315gsm
This is our favorite choice for photographic printing. Cotton base, smooth semigloss finish, OBA-free natural color base. Acid- and lignin-free. Meets the most exacting archival requirements.
Hahnemuhle William Turner - 325gsm
Mould-made, thick fine art paper with a distinctive finish. William Turner is the most textured paper we offer, and most commonly used for fine artwork reproductions.
Hahnemuhle “Natural Series” - Matte finishes
Bamboo - 290 gsm · 90% bamboo fibres · 10% cotton · natural white
Hemp - 290 gsm, 60% hemp fibre, 40% cotton, white
Agave - 290 gsm · 70% agave fibre · 30% cotton · white
